If this is author Susan Berger's first foray into writing a children's book, she hit it off the bookshelf. The timeless, magical story will be enjoyed by both young and older children, as well as parents who read the book to them. The beautiful illustrations were a nice bonus. I can see families enjoying this tale year after year. Well done!

A clever and heart-warming yarn!

Young Lucas is grappling with a question many of us have in our youth…is there a Santa? Susan J. Berger’s story explains why this is not an easy “yes” or “no” answer, but I think readers and listeners at the age where they are asking the same question will be pleased with what the tale tells as they learn about one of the most magical aspects of a modern Christmas tradition. There really is something special about the holiday season, and Santa is very much a part of that. KC Snider’s lovely illustrations add to the warmth and depth of the story. Mom is there a Santa Claus is also available in Spanish: https://www.guardianangelpublishing.c...

This is a wonderful story of a young boy, Lucas, who starts to question the existence of Santa Clause. This book is perfect for 7-10 year olds, when they start to ask those tough questions about the magic of Christmas. My boys aren't quite old enough yet, but I will be holding on to this book for the next year or 2 when my oldest gets curious. This book also hit home with me, to guard the dream and keep the spirit of Christmas alive.

This wonderfully written children’s book tells the story of a little boy, Lucas, as he tries to find the truth about Santa Claus. The illustrations are wonderfully drawn and really helped to capture my daughters attention as we read this story before bed.

This story does not give a quick yes or no answer to his question but rather explains a little of the magic of Santa. Lucas is invited to become the newest member of the Dream Keepers. I can see this becoming a holiday classic for kids for many years to come.

Christmas dream
A beautifully illustrated Christmas story about answering the question every parent faces. This story navigates the question in a slightly different way and focuses more on the belief of Christmas and keeping that belief alive rather than the magic of Christmas. The message is delivered well and the story has a heartwarming ending.

This was a really cute story about believing, not in Santa but in the magic that is Christmas for all people who find this season magical, I mean, people may grow up, but that doesn’t mean that they will stop believing in magic or in hope. Keeping the dream alive is half of the deed ^__^ that is the message of this story. That all of us may also be Dream Keepers.

I have two children, a boy, 4 years old and a girl, 8 years old, and last night when I read this story to them, both liked it very much, we discussed its meaning and why keeping the dream alive is important, it’s a great read not only for children to read alone, but to use this book as a reading for all class, and then discuss with the children what really it’s the meaning of Christmas how loving each other should be more important than, what can or cannot Santa bring!

Other great point is the drawings, this book has great drawings inside, reminded me of old story books, and that thought always warms my heart, as it brings me closer to when I was a child and when I started falling in love with books and reading.

I highly recommend this book, to children 4 -7 reading to them, and 8-11 to leave them reading it alone, but also that this is a great book to share ideas afterward <3

Mom, Is There Santa Clause?

This book brought tears to my eyes. Don’t be surprised, if you make a puppy face and let out an, “Aww,” at the end. Beautifully told, this story is reminiscent of those childhood days, when we start to leave the magic behind and start accepting reality with all its ugly truths.

When Lucas asks his mom if Santa really exists, he is confused by his mom’s fuzzy answers. He soon learns to re-live the magic of Santa for his little brother.

The author, Susan J. Berger (writer and actress – Hanna Montana / other TV shows), showcases the spirit of Christmas as Lucas smells the gingerbread, listens to the familiar Deck the Halls, strings popcorn and cranberries…

The illustrator, KC Snider complements the story with her very Christmassy art – sure to make you want Christmas a lot sooner this year.

Every parent will be able to relate to this book! Great, sentimental read.

This was a wonderful story, I feel every should should read this sweet story. Is there really Santa Clause? It is something most wonder about and will question through out their minds no matter what age. This story was very well done and gave all those tender moments of emotions. It was a story that taught me as I still am to this day, believing is seeing. if you believe in something it very much is real. Sometimes the idea of hope and our beliefs are what we have every day to get through. I loved the story and how the image of Santa was portrayed. It was beautiful, and jolly all in one, a book all children should all get to enjoy! The warmth I felt from reading was wonderful, this book made me smile. I was quite happy to partake in this story. The author made the story and memory of Santa come back to life for me, and for me that is truly touching. Enjoyed this read! I do recommend it, its something we all need to read! :)

This book is a timeless tale of the time in a child’s life when they are caught between whether they should believe in Santa Claus or not. When Lucas’ friends tell him there is no such thing as Santa Claus Lucas asks his mom if Santa Claus is real. His mom lets him in on a secret and gives him the opportunity to be a Dream Keeper. But is Lucas ready for such an important job?

This book was wonderfully written, beautifully illustrated and does a beautiful job of describing the true magic of Christmas. This is a book that pulls at your heart strings and conjures up fond childhood memories of Christmas as a child when Santa was very much real, and the magic of the Christmas season was all around us. I could smell the gingerbread baking in the kitchen, hear the Christmas songs and was right there stringing popcorn. This book is sure to become a Christmas classic!

“Every year the spirit of Santa enters the hearts and minds of people willing to listen.”

I am 32 years old and it is hard to convince me there is no such thing as Santa. I’ve been fortunate enough in my short life to have seen so many instances where the spirit of Christmas and the kindness of others has kept the hope alive for me. I think this is why Mom, is There a Santa Clause was such a big hit for me. I loved the way Lucas’ mom kept his dream alive so that Lucas could do the same for his younger siblings and classmates. My children are still young enough to be swept away by the magic of believing but this is the perfect book for that “stage” in life when they’re no longer so sure. This book kept a sentimental smile on my face throughout each page (and maybe got me a touch emotional too).

This was a pretty good children's holiday book. The book provides a great way of answering the question that all kids ask “Is there really a Santa?”. This is probably a question that all parents dread one day, feeling once they ask the magic of Christmas may be lost. However, the book answers the question in a magical way by explaining the spirit of Christmas and the idea of Santa, rather than just saying nope no Santa. In the book, the young child took that message and kept the dream alive for all the believers out there. While I did think there could have been more said or pondered about by the kid who acquired this new found information, I believed that it provided a great message of how to give kids the truth they are seeking, without causing “loss”.

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? by Susan J Berger Illustrator: KC Snider

5 Stars

I was lucky enough to have 3 of my grandchildren with me for a few days so grabbed this book as these 3 already are aware of there being no santa. I had them each read this separately and then we talked about it. Each of them loved it. One of them actually wished that when she found out that it had been just like it was handled in this story and they all 3 decided that that's how they will think about it from now on. That was enough for me to write this review and rate it 5 stars. Have already recommended my daughters read this for when it's time for the other younger ones to ask this question.

They really liked it!

Lucas is a young boy who is growing up quickly and as another Christmas arrives, he is excited that Santa will be coming again this year, but this excitement is dampened by his friends at school who tell him that “Only babies believe in Santa!” So when he gets home, he asks his Mom whether Santa really exists, this is where he is offered the chance to be a Dream Keeper and be a part of a big secret.

This is an illustrated tale of the part of growing up where things once strongly believed in, become things which children want to believe in, but feel like they can’t anymore because of their age, but does it also hold the key to something more? This a short and heartwarming story for all ages which keeps the magic of Christmas alive.

This was a short, illustrated story that helps answer the question that parents hate to hear from their children “Is there really a Santa Claus?” I like how the author took a different approach to answering this question and decided to teach kids to keep the dream alive. I think this is a great way to make the kids aware that Santa will always be in your heart if you just believe. I loved how the author managed to use a relic not Christmas related as a symbol of believing. This could be a great way of continuing to help keep the memories of Christmas alive in all of us. I thought that the illustrations were quite beautiful. I loved that they were simple yet helped tell the story. This is a highly recommended book for young children, especially those starting to question Santa.

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? By Susan J. Berger.
This is a cute children’s Christmas book with interesting and colourful illustrations to accompany the story. This book helps to answer the age old question that seems to come with children growing up… “is there a Santa?”/ “ is Santa real?” – this book helps to answer this difficult question with a lovely story that focuses on Lucas as he asks this question of his mother. Her response is quite heartwarming.
The overall message of the story is about not only about the magic of Christmas, but also about the importance of keeping the dream alive and being a ‘Dream-Keeper”.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Susan J. Berger!

This story gets ☆☆☆☆☆ stars! It is one of the cutest stories to answer that age long question. Is Santa Claus real? I love how this story leaves hope for the children. This author has taken what determines a child's feelings, and allowed them to help others believe. In all my teaching I have always said "Santa is in the hearts of all people." As this is what I grew up hearing. These characters are as real as you can get when it comes to school peers. What an awesome way to keep Santa in our hearts. Beautiful pictures bring this story to life. I recommend this book to all parents of young children.

This was a sweet book that I would recommended for children who get to the age where they start questioning if santa is real or not. This time of life can be quite upsetting for children as something they care about for years can get taken away.
However this story is about a young boys realisation that even if Santa is exactly the person he was led to believe, that he still exists as long as people believe in him. Lucas then sets out to help his parents keep the spirit of santa alive for his younger brother.
It's a very heartwarming story and a great idea of a way to approach that question some parents dread of is Santa real?

A great story about a young boy dealing with one of the great questions of our later youth – Is Santa Claus real? Susan Berger’s tale shows that the answer to that question may not be as simple as one may think. This is a perfect book for any child at “that age” where what they want to believe and what they actually believe start to drift apart. For the story’s main character, Lucas, finding out the truth about Santa isn’t a letdown, but rather an empowering experience. I’d recommend this story to anyone looking to help kids this age with these tough questions.

I loved this children’s holiday story. The illustrations brought the story to life and are bright and colorful. They are interactive and tell the story. This is a story about believing in Santa and getting to the age where you start questioning if there really is a Santa. A story about Lucas and how some of his friends no longer believe. But as they learn there are choices and what they choose will change things for them. This is a great Christmas book for any child. I highly recommend this book.

This beautifully written story is full of Christmas magic. The illustrations are lovingly drawn. The story is one that all parents don’t look forward to having to face. This is a delightful tale for kids who are at that age to question the magic of the man behind the suit and the reality of Christmas. The author has done a wonderful job of answering this. It is about holding on to traditions and beliefs to help others retain that childhood magic of Christmas. You are never too old to believe in a magic and the spirit of Christmas.

Absolutely perfect! The art is beautifully done and the story is everything I could want for Christmas. This is the perfect way to tell children that there is no “real” Santa Claus, but reminding them that the magic of Santa Claus is real. I really liked the author points out that there will always be a Santa Claus as long as children believe. Children believing in Santa and even adults make the Christmas season all that much more magical. This is really the perfect Christmas book for children, I highly recommend.

I was looking for a book that I could share with my son who is on the cusp of not believing in Santa. I wanted a fun way to tell him, but still needed a way for him to not spoil it for his younger brother. This book, like many of the Christmas stories and movies, starts with a friend telling the main character that Santa isn’t real. In this book the mom talks about the child being a dream keeper and that those believe keep the dream alive. The boy becomes a dream keeper so that his brother still believes. A great way to help tell your child about Santa, I just wish it was longer!

My children are now grown old enough to understand that there is no Santa, but there was a point of time when they did come and ask, ”Mom, is there really a Santa?”. This book helps us answer the question with a lovely story, which Lucas’s mom tells him when he asks her the same question. The spirit of Christmas is explained so well to keep the notion of Santa alive in the minds of the young and old alike. A beautiful book and a must read for all children who have come of age to understand that Santa Claus is magical and not real.

This book is a coming of age story based around the concept of Santa. The author introduces a new way of approaching the subject on if there is a Santa Clause. The story is a cute experience between a mother and her son over the topic. She recruits him over into being a Dream Keeper. Which he takes to heart with his little brother. Keeping the magic alive for his younger sibling. I adore the new take on the holiday season. It is a book that I will be reading to my children when they begin to ask the same question.

Mom is There a Santa Claus is such an adorable book. It is a great tool for addressing that transition period, when a child begins to question Santa. I am going to keep this book in my back pocket, as I'm sure I will need it within the next year for my oldest. She is right at that age, and will enjoy assisting keep the magic alive for her younger brothers. Many of us adults have heard this rationale, of becoming part of the magic. I enjoyed the added personal touch of the necklace passed down through the generations. I love the illustrations, they are very bright and unique.

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? By Susan J. Berger

4-stars

Though my kiddos are still too young for this book I’m really happy I read it as it gave me some insight and ideas in how to approach this question when they will inevitably ask, Is There a Santa Claus?

I love how the author kept the magic of Christmas going and I hope to do the same when the time comes. This is a book I would recommend to all parents of little ones!

This is by far the best Christmas story I’ve ever read! It addresses the infamous question of “Is Santa real?” but in a way that doesn’t come right out and say no. This is a heartwarming story story about the magic of Christmas and keeping the magic alive for those around us. I will definitely be reading this to all the kids in my life every year. This is a perfect story for those young kids wanting to know if Santa is real; it explains it perfectly!

A sweet children’s read! This book could provide a great read for parents and children struggling with the question of whether or not Santa Claus is real. This book tries to capture the spirit of Christmas and translates a positive message. It was an easy, fast read. I’d recommend for older kids and families who may be trying to help capture the spirit of Christmas and address questions about Santa Claus.

This was a really sweet story! I wasn't sure what I was expecting, something a little different, but this was very sweet to read! I wanted to read it to my one year old daughter but this is a little too much for her understanding right now. I would say this could be a good story to read to maybe 4-6 year olds. I plan to read this to my daughter when she gets older. It has a great premise and the illustrations are beautiful. I think kids would really enjoy having this book read to them!
